The motel has 18 rooms that have a more retro feel with décor from the 60s.

We have two conference rooms available to hire.

The large conference room sits up to 44 people, and the smaller conference room sits up to 25 people.

Both rooms are equipped with a whiteboards, ceiling mounted projectors with HDMI/VGA, Wireless and a 46”TV.

In partnership with Bergfästet in Laxå we are able to hire a conference room for up to people.

The first hotel that started the Scandic chain was called Esso Motor Hotel. It opened in in Laxå, Sweden, and was popular because people were traveling more by car. The chain grew to 59 hotels in Europe by Esso then sold the hotels outside of Scandinavia, and the remaining 32 hotels, including five in Norway and Denmark, became the biggest hotel chain in Sweden in

In , a Swedish group led by Ratos bought the company and named it Scandic Hotels. Ratos became the sole owner in In , they opened their first hotel outside Scandinavia in Germany.

During the Gulf Crisis in /91, the business was affected, and new management took over in In , they bought Reso Hotels and became a publicly traded company. They expanded into Finland and Estonia in the following years.

The first hotel in what was later to become the Scandic chain was the Esso Motor Hotel in Laxå in the province of Närke, central Sweden. Opened in , it capitalized on the increase in car travel, both for business and pleasure – the motel was a novel concept for Europe at the time. The chain grew to 59 hotels Europewide by , when Esso sold the non-Scandinavian hotels. Scandic Hotels är en hotellkedja som ägs av börsnoterade Scandic Hotels Group.[3] Huvudkontoret ligger i Stockholm i Sverige. Scandic Hotels huvudsakliga verksamhet är i de nordiska länderna. Förutom hotell i Sverige, Norge, Finland och Danmark har Scandic även hotell i Tyskland och Polen.

Historik

Det första hotellet inom det företag som nu är Scandic Hotels öppnade i Laxå som Esso Motorby, en enkel motellanläggning på 20 rum, en självservering och en Esso-servicestation. Tanken var att bygga upp en kedja av servicestationer utefter europavägar och riksvägar, kompletterade med små motell och enkla restauranger. Det var tänkt som motellservice till turister men visade sig vara intressant även för affärsresenärer, och företaget bytte namn till Esso Motorhotell.

År sålde Esso hotellkedjan till ett konsortium bestående av Barkman & Co, Ratos, Skandia och Svea och efter ett år köptes övriga ägare ut av Ratos. I samband med detta byttes namnet till Scandic Hotels.[5] Samma år köpte man Carternord (tidigare Ica-restau
